Bristol Pound Mug (£20B) "Bristol Holding Hands"

One of a series of eight fine English bone china mugs to celebrate the 2nd edition note designs of the Bristol Pound, depicting each winning design of the famous local currency.

The Bristol Pound supports local businesses here in Stokes Croft and the rest of the city by keeping money moving around locally instead of being absorbed into the profits of larger businesses with little interest in the city and its character.

Each mug has been designed from the notes in circulation round Bristol.

This mug shows a collection of people from different backgrounds in Bristol holding hands. It is a design by 6 year old Kara Backes - a school pupil at Waycroft Academy in Stockwood and shows her interpretation of diversity and community, and inspired by the colours of the houses in Totterdown.
