The Artist: Emma Lucy McArthur
Emma is a printmaker and artist, originally from Essex, now living with her partner in Bristol.
She made a drawing a day in 2018 and 2019 as an exercise to help her concentration and form her artistic identity through practice. However, over time these drawings have developed into explorations of the physical form and identity.
From evolving her own original life drawings, moving deeper into the structure that makes up each of us, she attempts to show beauty and fragility. Identity has played a part in much of her work through illustrations, screen prints and lino printing, and continues to mature each day. She works mainly with lino, a medium that allows her to work in the detail she loves.
In 2022, Emma became a published author and illustrator with the publication of 'The Body Tarot'.
