The Friends of the Earth organisation invited activists of environmental and feminist movements to demonstrate why women’s empowerment is critical to environmental sustainability in the book ‘Why Women Will Save the Planet’.

Vandana Shiva, one of the contributors to the book, is an Indian environmental activist who founded Navdanya (‘nine seeds’), an organisation promoting biodiversity and the rights of farmers. It also educates farmers on the benefits of maintaining diverse and individualized crops through a seed sharing scheme.

The Artist: Clare Andrews

Clare Andrews completed a fine art degree in Cardiff, and has mainly worked in areas that require a paint brush. This has included painting murals at schools, traditional pub signs, theatre design and festival decor. Clare is currently working as a writer / illustrator of children’s picture books, and works mainly in watercolour and pencil.

Clare decided to look for something she could fit around her illustration work that would be creative, but also social. She started volunteering with PRSC decorating their chinaware, enjoying being part of something that is community based with a local production line.

Delivery

We decorate all our chinaware by hand and fire it here on site, so while we aim to despatch within 3-5 working days, some orders may take up to three weeks to arrive. If you're in a hurry please call us on 0117 944 4540 to check availability.

Standard UK delivery is £5.95. We offer FREE Click & Collect from our Stokes Croft shop.

Sending to the EU? Thanks to Brexit, posting from the UK to the EU is now very confusing. Please be aware that additional charges may apply on delivery - this varies from country to country - so it's possible further payment might be needed to get your package through customs.
