Rachel Carson (1907-1964)

As a scientist and writer, Carson taught people to care for nature: she pointed out the beauty and intricacy of the butterfly, the awesome force and purity of the sea, the economy and grace of the oak tree … and saw love, rather than guilt, as a key to transforming humanity’s relationship to nature.

Her book Silent Spring (1962) which criticised pesticides caused an outrage. Its influence was critical on the nascent environmental movement, and the controlling and banning of DDT.

The Artist: Micha Libert

Originally conceived by Micha before she returned to her Belgian roots, this design remains a staple of Stokes Croft China's offerings.

Micha Libert holds an Archaeology degree from Leiden University. Drawing on her background in Heritage, Eastern Cultures and Interior Design, she crafts idiomatic concepts for her artistic briefs. Her pieces are known for their subtlety, finish, and resourceful choice of materials and way of working.

We offer FREE UK delivery on all orders over £100, or FREE Click & Collect from our Stokes Croft shop. Standard UK delivery is £5.50.

Sending to the EU? Thanks to Brexit, posting from the UK to the EU is now very confusing. Please be aware that additional charges may apply on delivery - this varies from country to country - so it's possible further payment might be needed to get your package through customs.
