The Artist: Elaine Robinson Artist
Elaine Robinson is a socially engaged artist based in Bristol whose work explores identity, nature, ancestry, and unity through instinctive, multi-layered creations. Her flagship project, SPOTtimespotTIME, is a ten-year participatory artwork gathering fingerprints—from public figures and everyday people alike—as a powerful symbol of connection, biodiversity, and identity. She also produced Turning ‘ages (LIGAR I), a touring installation hosted in city libraries across the UK, which reflects on our evolving relationship with books, memory, and cultural change. Alongside these public works, Elaine creates smaller abstract paintings—rich in texture, collage, and personal inscriptions. She believes wholeheartedly in the goodness of people and the naturally evolving rhythms of life, with her work aiming to transcend difference, nurture empathy, and celebrate our shared human experience.
