The Artist: Lily Mae Strong

I use drawing as a daily practice to evolve my art work. Drawing is like a portal, I often get lost in the process. Time melts away, I am locked in to a surreal imagined world. It is a very playful fun experience, I love to layer and play with felt tips experimenting with colour and texture creating a sense of childlike joy and freedom. Drawing also helps me to process more difficult experiences and emotions. Connecting my mind body and subconscious. It is thrilling as I don’t know what will emerge when I start working. Sometimes I have an idea but it always transforms into something unexpected.
