Just in case you didn't know, the Queen technically owns (owned?!) a lot of swans.
A law from the 12th century declared all swans be forfeited to the king except those belonging to the most privileged. Swans were a delicious delicacy and status symbol, only owned by the king or aristocratic landowners who marked their swans with a crest. Any escapee swans 'flying at liberty' automatically belonged to the crown.
In 2007 artist Mark McGowan took the law into his own hands and dared to eat a swan, but we all now know that it is only Queenie who can fully exclaim 'I Eat Swans!'
A vital addition to all royal memorabilia collections, designed by Scot Burgoyne.

The Artist: Scot Burgoyne
Scot Burgoyne studied illustration at the University of the West of England, and has exhibited his work in and around Bristol. He has been twice selected for the RWA’s Autumn Exhibition and has had work featured in ‘The Best of British Illustration Annual’.
Scot started decorating china for PRSC in 2012, enjoying the new challenge of working with a three dimensional medium. His one off pieces usually take the clean lines of the china and enhance them using symmetrical and asymmetrical designs. He is also the creator of our infamous ‘I EAT SWANS’ mug.
