We've taken our joyful mug design and put it on a tile!

A common tactic in the authoritarian handbook is the suppression of music, dance, art and forms of celebration. Not least, because the vibrant joy they unleash in people creates an emotional momentum that threatens to upend repressive orders. Shared experiences of joy physiologically unite people in a way that makes them harder to divide and dominate. Even momentary flashes of joy provide respite and resilience for activists facing the grinding struggles and slow progress against injustice. So sing, dance, create, love, take pleasure in the little things, generally be joyous, and fuck "the man"!

Originally adopted by Black feminists pushing back against the dehumanization and subjugation forced upon Black women, the opening line from Toi Derricote's poem The Telly Cycle has now been embraced by many activists as a positive force for change. Featuring custom type designed by Bandi and vintage flower transfers, we hope this trivet brings a little joyful resistance into your life.

We decorate all our chinaware by hand and fire it here on site, so while we aim to despatch within 3-5 working days, some orders may take up to three weeks to arrive. If you're in a hurry please call us on 0117 944 4540 to check availability.

Standard UK delivery is £5.95. We offer FREE Click & Collect from our Stokes Croft shop.

Sending to the EU? Thanks to Brexit, posting from the UK to the EU is now very confusing. Please be aware that additional charges may apply on delivery - this varies from country to country - so it's possible further payment might be needed to get your package through customs.

Sending to the USA? Thanks to Trump and his tariffs, posting things to the States is now a little bit trickier, but with the help of our local post office, looks like we are good to go.
