The Artist: Naomi Garcia Tattoo
Naomi Garcia is a multidisciplinary artist from Madrid, Spain, now based in Bristol, UK. Beginning her artistic journey with oil painting, she has since made tattooing her primary practice, while continuing to explore painting as an integral part of her work. Across both disciplines, she draws on religious imagery, symbolism and ornamentation, reinterpreting traditional visual languages through a personal and unconventional lens. Her practice moves between the intricate architectural references of her tattoos and the more colourful, irreverent approach of her paintings, united by an interest in challenging familiar symbols and their meanings.
