Choices, choices, choices! Some of us have many more options than others and few have more than the obscenely wealthy. Once you get to a certain net worth then you can move a little money here and there, take out a loan on it and never have to pay any tax at all! It’s all very clever. So like the generous souls we are, we’ve decided to give them one more decision to make – Dear the Ultra Wealthy, when history comes a calling, remember you had a choice.

Where might they summer this year? What school should young Tarquin attend? How much of our money can we stash off-shore to avoid the grabby little fingers of the tax man? Every choice, of course, comes with consequences. Every wodge kept out of HMRC’s reach to save a personal pittance whilst stretching the state and the people past breaking point. History has a lot to teach us about the eventual consequences of such hoarding.
