Taken from the great Ursula Le Guin's acceptance speech for the National Book Foundation Medal in 2014, we adore the sentiment and gentle menace present in her words. We've combined her quote with imagery of colourful knights, crowns, crests, and guillotines to stay true to the edge of Le Guin's words.
These are all unique in terms of their print placement and knight colours (there are at least three), but due to the difficulty firing this particular vintage print, there is the possibility of some of the print spitting out... in other words, the enshittification of capitalism even extends to some of our mugs! There is beauty in imperfection though, and it just makes each mug even more unique.
Because of this, unfortunately we won't be accepting returns due to print issues with this mug - although if there is anything else up with it, of course we'll replace it!

Delivery
We decorate all our chinaware by hand and fire it here on site, so while we aim to despatch within 3-5 working days, some orders may take up to three weeks to arrive. If you're in a hurry please call us on 0117 944 4540 to check availability.
Standard UK delivery is £5.95. We offer FREE Click & Collect from our Stokes Croft shop.
Sending to the EU? Thanks to Brexit, posting from the UK to the EU is now very confusing. Please be aware that additional charges may apply on delivery - this varies from country to country - so it's possible further payment might be needed to get your package through customs.
Sending to the USA? Thanks to Trump and his tariffs, posting things to the States is now a little bit tricky. It might be a good idea to contact us before placing your order, just to make sure it is possible!
