Our new mug is in recognition and celebration of the great service midwives provide. It is also a call out for all of us to join in the fight to protect this service. Maternity care, like so much of the NHS is in crisis. Underfunded and understaffed, the year on year increase in the number of babies being delivered is a threat to both the service, and the mothers & babies who need it.

NHS Maternity care is free at the point of need, and has been for at least 75 years now... long may it continue!

NB. the average cost of maternity care in the USA is $ 30,000 without insurance, and $3,550 even with insurance.

The Designers

At Stokes Croft China, our resident artists carefully combine and arrange the designs here in our studio, ensuring that no two items are the same.

Ceramic transfers in their original guise would be applied sparingly to each piece, but here we let them run riot in true Bristol fashion.
